5th Grade Weekly Homework
Homework will be assigned on Mondays and due on Fridays.
May 23: Final homework of the year! Read 14 interesting animal facts and answer the 14 corresponding questions in order to practice reading strategies and learn some new vocabulary too. Click here for an electronic copy.

May 9: Complete the reading about what four different animals can do if not finished in class (the title at the top is ¡Qué listsos!. Many students finished this in class. Click here for an electronic copy.
May 2: No homework this week :) However, students may click here to practice for our test with my Bosque Tropical Quizlet flash cards.

March 15: Draw an arpillera similar to those that we looked at in class (except ours will be with paper since sewing them would take a lot of time and resources.) The possibilities are endless (crayons, pencil, black and white, color, paint, cut out magazine pictures, print out pictures, a Minecraft scene, a Disney scene, a Harry Potter scene, etc.) Click here for the instructions. March 9: Waldo's Travel Journal with six comprehension questions related to what Waldo did during his vacation in Chile. Click here for an electronic copy.

January 27: Two options this week as shown on the handout here. The first option is to practice for 10 minutes with one or more of the websites at this link:
January 20: This assignment was started in class. Students created and drew a superhero or princess and described him/her from the first person perspective. This week's homework is to finish the description if it wasn't completed in class. Most students did already finish and turn it in. Thus, most students do not have homework this week for Spanish.

Wednesday, April 8: Insect, animal or object for 5th grade rain forest mural. Students signed up in class regarding what they want to draw or print out in order to ensure a variety of creatures and things. Click here for the instructions distributed in class.
Tuesday, March 31/April 1st: Spelling practice of vocabulary words OR Crossword puzzle for vocabulary words.
For students who have Ms. Shafer, Ms. O'Conner and Mr. Reynolds - homework is due Thursday.
For students who have Mr. Demanby or Ms. Claflin, homework is due Monday (due to missing all or part of class as a result of testing schedule)
Wednesday, March 25: Students who did not complete the arpillera written description in class need to do so for homework. The fill in the blank guide can act as a rough draft, but the final draft should be written in the Spanish notebook. I can stay after school until 3:30 on any day except for Monday for students who would like assistance with this homework.
Monday, March 16: Complete arpillera that we started designing in class. Remember that it must have mountains, a sun, 2+ animals and yourself. Due on Wednesday so that we can use them for a writing activity.
